Screenplays came back in film class today. Got a B+ on my screenplay based off an old short story, which I was rather pleasantly surprised by. Went in for a review of yesterday's lighting workshop for some practice and learning the board, had lunch with a couple of friends from 1945 (one of whom I hadn't seen since; it was nice to catch up), trekked out to Newtown to drop off a volunteer app. Confusingly beautiful day today. This week's film lecture was on the cinema of attractions and how in the early days people watched films just for the OMGWTFery of moving pictures but in some ways we're still going over the same old footage if in new forms like CGI. mad_as_soup's birthday picnic in the Bot Gardens today. Near us this small group of people (a family?) was putting a tuba, a trumpet, and some other small brass instrument we couldn't see from our picnic spot in amongst the flowerbed and taking photos. It was very surreal.
